Rural and semi-rural residents who do not have access to personal vehicle transportation often use regional transportation systems in order to get from home to destinations for medical treatment, business transactions, shopping, or other social events. Those transportation systems differ greatly from available, but limited, regularly scheduled bus routes in a larger community.
This project will applied ArcGIS, its extensions, and other software in order to analyze current usage of publicly provided transportation systems serving clients in 3 states and 7 counties: Dakota County, Nebraska, Union County, South Dakota; and Cherokee, Ida, Monona, Plymouth, and Woodbury counties in Iowa. Siouxland Regional Transit System (SRTS) offers rural public transit and Sioux City Transit System contracts with SRTS to deliver complimentary para-transit service. Final Summary Report |
