MidAmerica GIS Consortium

We know you appreciate the talents of your fellow GISers. Please consider nominating them for a MAGIC Award. We are accepting award nominations for MAGIC 2024. Nominees for these awards may be individuals, groups or entities. Nominators should clearly outline the nature of the contribution being honored in the submission. The awards are voted on by MAGIC participating states, each state caucusing its members as it sees fit, and presented at the Symposium opening session April 16th, 2024. Nominations for the 2024 MidAmerica GIS Symposium must be received no later than February 29, 2024. Awards winners since 2014 are not eligible for awards in 2024.

Award Types and Guidelines:

• Outstanding Contribution in GIS Coordination: Nominees have demonstrated outstanding contributions to GIS Coordination benefiting their community in the MidAmerica region during the past two years. Coordination award nominees should have worked to increase the interaction of GIS efforts across disciplinary boundaries, agencies, municipalities, counties, states, education and private agencies. Contributions may have been through leadership, technical innovation or regional consensus building.
• Outstanding Contribution in GIS Service: Nominees have demonstrated outstanding contributions to GIS Service benefiting their community in the MidAmerica region during the past two years. Nominees should have worked above and beyond their normal duties to increase their contribution to GIS in the region. Contributions may have been through education, outreach, training, applications, projects or by successfully accomplishing grants that benefit their communities.
  
• Outstanding Contribution in GIS Innovation: Nominees have demonstrated outstanding innovation using GIS technologies to benefit their community in the Mid-America region during the past two years. Nominees should have increased the collective knowledge base of the region by improving software, business process, programs, or the like, and sharing that knowledge with the region. Contributions may have been through applications or projects that reflect creative utilization of GIS.
